Academic scholarships for freshmen entering the traditional program may be awarded based on a review of students’ transcripts (academic rigor and cumulative, unweighted GPA). Scholarships range in total value between $48,000-$72,000. Annual awards are between $12,000-$18,000 and are renewable with designated Lakeland University GPAs.

Awards $500-2,000 per year to accomplished piano students, selected by audition. This award is renewable. Open to new, full-time freshmen or transfer students. Students must maintain enrollment in MUS 258 Collaborative Piano and may serve as accompanists to choral students, in the voice studio, or work with jazz or other ensembles as assigned by the piano instructor.

Awards $500 - $3,000 per year to qualified music students. Annual audition required, along with participation in a band or choral group at Lakeland. Open to new, full-time freshmen or transfer students. Renewable.

Awards $1,000 - $3,000 per year to qualified theatre performers and production assistants. Open to new, full-time freshman or transfer students. Audition required, along with participation in Lakeland’s productions. Renewable.

Awards $500–$2,500. This opportunity is for students interested in the field of Food Safety & Quality. Lakeland has partnered with local food manufacturers to create opportunities for students to work and learn about the food safety & quality field through this award. Renewable.

Awards $1,000–$3,000 per year to qualified Esports student athletes. Open to new, full-time freshman or transfer students. Esports Head Coach may recommend scholarship amounts by observing try-outs, reviews of film, combines, tournaments, or season matchplay, as well as in-person or virtual campus visits.

Renewable. Priority award deadline of May 1, 2026.

Awards of $1,000 per year to qualified students who are blood relatives of LU alumni and have a 2.5 GPA or higher. Funds available on a first come first serve basis. Renewable.

Awards full-tuition scholarships to selected students from Sheboygan County. A minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.25 or a score of 27 or better on the ACT are required. Renewable.

Awards one full-tuition scholarship to new, full-time multicultural freshmen. Preference is given to freshmen graduating from an inner city high school in Chicago, Ill. Renewable.

One full-tuition scholarship and multiple $2,000 awards are available for new students eager to explore the intersection of faith, reason and justice. Students must declare and maintain satisfactory academic progress towards a minor or major in Religion or Social Justice Studies, and participate in programing of the Ulrich Center for Philosophy, Ethics and Christian Thought. Open to new, full-time freshmen or transfer students.

Priority application deadline is Nov. 23, 2025. Rolling application deadline is May 1, 2026.

This full-tuition scholarship is open to new, full-time freshmen with high financial need. Preference will be given to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Renewable.

Awards $500–$3,000. Open to new, full-time freshmen and transfer students, demonstrating leadership and/or altruism. Supplemental materials and interview required. Renewable.

Students pursuing a Food Safety & Quality degree through Lakeland University's evening and online courses are eligible to apply for a $500 one-time, non-renewable scholarship.

Scholarship Eligibility:

• Pursuing a degree in Food Safety & Quality
• Applicants must meet one of the following sets on college and/or high school transcripts:

    • Any AP-Level or college, pre-calculus and/or calculus with an earned grade of 'B' or better
• Applicants are eligible to receive the scholarship upon full admission and registration in the Food Safety & Quality program

The scholarship may be used in conjunction with other William R. Kellett School scholarships and discounts. Students may use employer reimbursement to pay for tuition expenses not covered by the scholarship.

Students pursuing the RN to BSN Completion Program are eligible to apply for the following scholarships (see below). The scholarships range from $500-$1,000.

  • To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant must be a new RN to BSN Completion Program student (limited to the first 50 new students). Applicants are eligible to receive this scholarship upon full admission and registration in the RN to BSN Completion Program.

Eligible students who are members of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) will also receive a one-time $100 credit applied to their account after commencing enrollment.

Lakeland University awards multiple scholarships each year for students who enroll in the Orff Schulwerk Certification program for graduate credit. Students completing Orff Schulwerk coursework for credit must apply for this scholarship each year that they enroll for consideration.

Scholarship Eligibility

To be eligible, a student must enroll for the Orff Schulwerk Certification program for graduate credit, have earned at least a 3.0 from their undergraduate institution, and demonstrate financial need by completing a FAFSA. Students must indicate their intention to complete all three levels of Orff Schulwerk certification. Students who apply for this award having previously completed Orff Schulwerk level coursework at Lakeland University must have achieved no lower than a 3.0 for their previous work. (NOTE: In summer 2021 only Level I is offered. Therefore, this final requirement will apply in future summers when Levels II and III are offered.)

Scholarships are available for students within the Master of Music in Music Education – Kodály Emphasis program and the OAKE Endorsed Kodály Certificate program.

Kodaly Summer Graduate Music Scholarships

Lakeland University awards multiple scholarships each year for students who have been accepted to either the Kodaly Certificate program or the Master of Music in Music Education: Kodaly Emphasis program. Scholarships are applied each summer a student registers for no less than six graduate credits that are applicable to program completion. Students who receive a scholarship will not need to reapply each summer, provided that they continue to meet the eligibility requirements listed below. (NOTE: Students who have less than six credits remaining in the program during their fourth summer of study in the Master of Music in Music Education – Kodaly Emphasis program may receive a prorated scholarship for their final summer of study.)

Scholarship Eligibility

To be and remain eligible a for an award, an accepted student must enroll in no less than six graduate credits that are applicable to program completion in the summer, have earned at least a 3.0 from their undergraduate institution, demonstrate financial need by completing a FAFSA, and maintain a record of academic excellence at Lakeland University with a GPA of no lower than a 3.0. Awards will renew automatically each summer so long as the eligibility requirements listed above continue to be met.
