Nursing Faq

Yes, Lakeland's nursing program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Lakeland University and Moraine Park Technical College partnered to offer students interested in nursing the opportunity to live on the Lakeland campus and engage in campus activities like athletics and clubs while taking both Lakeland and Moraine Park Technical College courses at the same time.
By taking courses at both places, students can earn and associate degree in nursing and a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.

The nursing program was developed with room for Co-Op credit. Students can work when it is good for them and earn Co-Op credit for that work experience.

Nursing students will rotate through a variety of clinical experiences including acute care, medical-surgical, mental health, long-term care, and others.

The Concurrent Enrollment BSN is for students interested in the Lakeland University and Moraine Park Technical College program which is designed for the student who want to become a nurse. The RN to BSN Completion Program is for nurses who have earned their associate degree in nursing and are licensed registered nurses who want to earn their bachelor's degree in nursing.

The program can be taken fully online. The nursing courses are offered in a 7-week format allowing less class overlap and more flexibility.

The RN to BSN Completion Program accepts up to 90 transfer credits, allowing students to complete as few as 30 credits at Lakeland University to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Prospective students can request a personalized transfer credit evaluation and academic plan to see how previous coursework applies toward the degree.

Taking a year of high school chemistry and earning a grade of C or better would be a great start. Other classes you may want to take that will help prepare you include psychology, sociology, algebra, and anatomy and physiology.
If you are interested in taking college level courses, you could consider general psychology, composition, interpersonal communication, and medical terminology.
